At the current rate of change, women will not gain a 50% leadership share for at least 100 more years.

Clearly, the rate of change must accelerate. Acting alone, no single organization can make that happen. Real impact will require the collective effort of many Allied Organizations. Vision 2020 is leading that collective impact initiative — starting now.

The Shared Leadership Campaign will intensify over the four years counting down to 2020: the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote. In that milestone year, Vision 2020 and its Allies will host a Centennial Celebration of women's progress and focus national attention on the unfinished business of equality.

Vision 2020 and its Allies will take action in three areas:

EDUCATION: TO HELP MORE AMERICANS SEE WOMEN AS LEADERS
Actions will educate people of all ages, especially our youth, about the history of women, their achievements and present-day challenges.

PRIVATE SECTOR LEADERSHIP: TO PROMOTE SHARED LEADERSHIP IN BUSINESS
Actions will change attitudes and behaviors that create barriers to inclusion.

CIVIC ENGAGEMENT: TO REACH GENDER BALANCE IN GOVERNMENT
Actions will increase the number of women who exercise their hard-won right to vote and run for public office.

Vision 2020 seeks funding from corporations, foundations and individuals who support bold action to achieve 50-50 shared leadership among women and men. To learn more about the Shared Leadershhip Campaign, download the Case for Support PDF.
